Most small businesses run their books twice — once in the accounting tool and once in a spreadsheet nobody admits to. Dockly Books is the ledger the rest of your business writes to directly, so the numbers you look at on Tuesday are the numbers your accountant closes on at month end.

WHO IT IS FOR

Built for the way you already work

Founders without a finance team

You are the finance team. Books is built so that recording something correctly takes less effort than recording it badly.

Finance leads at a growing company

Invoices, expenses and payroll postings arrive from the apps that created them, so you spend the month reviewing rather than re-entering.

Accountants and CAs

Your client's data is already structured. You get access to the same ledger they use, with an audit trail of what changed and who changed it.

IN DETAIL

What Dockly Books does

Every capability needs product sign-off before launch.

Invoicing

Raise an invoice, send it, and watch it move from sent to viewed to paid without leaving the ledger. Recurring invoices go out on schedule.

Bank activity

See incoming and outgoing money next to the records it belongs to, and match a payment to an invoice in one action rather than three.

Expense capture

Photograph a bill and Dockly AI reads the vendor, amount, date and tax, then files it against the right account for you to confirm.

Chart of accounts

Start on a sensible default for an Indian business and adjust it as you grow, rather than building one from a blank page.

Cost centres

Tag spending by team, project or location once, and every report downstream can split by it.

Multi-currency

Invoice a customer abroad in their currency and keep your books in rupees, with the gain or loss recorded where it belongs.

QUESTIONS

Before you ask us

Is Dockly Books built for Indian businesses?

Yes. It prices in rupees, handles GST on invoices and expenses, and ships with a chart of accounts that suits an Indian company rather than one translated from elsewhere. It also supports invoicing overseas customers in their currency.

Can my accountant work in it?

That is the intent. You invite them to your workspace with their own login and a role that fits what they need, and every change carries an audit trail. There is no exporting a file and emailing it back and forth.

Can I move across from what I use now?

Tell us what you are on today and we will talk you through it honestly, including whether it is worth moving mid-year. Get in touch before you commit to anything — we would rather say not yet than watch a migration go badly.

Do I need the rest of Dockly for Books to be useful?

No. Books works on its own on a single-app plan. It gets more useful as you add apps, because payroll, sales and tax then write to it directly instead of you doing it by hand.
